china lane....

if your already in love with china doll at woolloomooloo wharf, well you now have more to love!
they have opened a sister resturant in the city!.... drum roll please... 'china lane'.
with on sensor birdsongs and hanging birdcages whats not to like?... more delicous food perhaps!

As Sydney’s inner city nooks come to life with new street art and the revamping of laneways, we can now add another bright spark throwing light into hidden corners. China Lane – the new and more relaxed addition to the China Doll and China Beach family – opened its doors in Angel Place this week, officially trading from Monday July 23. Bacci Moore in managing and Ben Haywood (previously of China Doll) is rattling the pans.
“We had the soft openings on Thursday and Friday last week and it couldn’t have gone more seamlessly,” says Moore of the inner city space that was previously Surjit’s Indian Restaurant. With the distinctive birdcage artwork already part of the streetscape, it seems that Angel Place is on the up and up, joining Ash Street in making the inner city streets and lanes a far more welcoming haunt than they once were.
There’s a 1950s vibe to the green couches, cheeky lamps and starburst clocks that litter the place – bringing a touch of old school style. “Shanghai meets Mad Men is a good way to describe it,” offers Moore. As you might expect, the menu carries a decidedly Chinese twist, with banquets for $45 and $60 respectively as well as a la carte options such as crispy master stock pigs ear, pink snapper with ginger soy or Bo Kho slow braised Wagyu beef shin.

selina numina

we are super excited about our recent discovery of the amazing artworks by Aboriginal artist Selina Numina
we are also shocked that we have only just discovered her!
her intracately detailed paintings of bush medicine leaves in beautifully selected vivid colours have us scrambling to making space on the wall
one of these would certainly bring a room to life!
you can purchase Selinas stunning pieces at the Kate Owen gallery here

Lovely Lana Del Ray for H&M

yes thats right, this bombshell is now the face of H&M.... why not!
Why stop at having a Mulberry handbag named after you when you can have a high-street campaign under your belt, too?
That's exactly what singer Lana Del Rey has done, signing up as the face of fashion giant H&M's autumn/winter 2012 campaign.

Lana's first official modelling job, after signing with the Next agency, sees her rocking her signature retro-glam look — complete with high bouffant hair, cat's-eye liner and a mohair sweater!
